MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens will formally don their throwback jerseys inspired by the mid-1970s design of their uniform for the first time, Thursday night in their game against the Ottawa Senators at the Bell Centre.

All told, there will be six "Adidas Reverse Retro Nights presented by RONA" on the season, all to be played on home ice. Four are during the week and two are on Saturday nights:
"Since our Reverse Retro jersey design was unveiled last fall, we've been thrilled to see that fan reaction has been consistently as positive and enthusiastic as we all were internally throughout the creative and approval process," said France Margaret Belanger, the Canadiens' Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. "We can't wait to see our players finally wear these jerseys for real, and we're appreciative of RONA's commitment as a partner to help create excitement around these games with as wide an audience as possible."

As part of this initiative, RONA will be offering fans the opportunity to win one of 15 official adidas Reverse Retro jerseys. The contest will launch on February 11 on RONA's Facebook page and will also be shared by the Canadiens' official team accounts.
"We're proud to continue the long tradition between the Canadiens and RONA," noted Catherine Laporte, Vice-President, Marketing at Lowe's Canada. "This initiative recalls some great nostalgia both for Habs fans and our customers. To mark the occasion and to salute RONA's entrepreneurial roots, we're bringing back the signature bird logo that was associated with our stores for over 30 years."
Since their launch last November, the Reverse Retro jerseys and associated products have consistently ranked among the most popular items sold at the Canadiens' official team store, Tricolore Sports. Fans wishing to view the entire line of limited-edition pieces can do so online at
