MONTREAL -- Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Monday that the club submitted qualifying offers to five players.

The offers were made to forwards Kirby Dach, Nate Schnarr and Joel Teasdale, as well as to goaltenders Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau.
In 70 games this season with the Chicago Blackhawks, Dach notched 26 points (9 goals, 17 assists) in addition of serving 43 penalty minutes. Acquired from Chicago on Friday in return for draft picks, the 21-year-old forward has a 19-40-59 record in 152 NHL career games.
Schnarr tallied 10 points in 20 games with Laval following his acquisition from the New Jersey Devils. The 6'03'' and 185 lbs forward also added two goals and two assists in 11 playoff contests with the Rocket.
Teasdale skated in 44 games with the Laval Rocket, registering 15 goals and 13 assists while also serving 17 penalty minutes. The Repentigny, QC native added two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in 15 playoff games.
Montembeault played 38 games with the Canadiens this season, earning an 8-18-6 record including one shutout, a 3.77 GAA and a .891 save percentage. The 25-year-old goaltender set career-highs in the NHL in games played, wins, saves and shots faced.
Primeau played 33 games with Laval, posting a 16-12-3 record, a 2.94 GAA and a .909 save percentage. The 6'03'' and 203 lbs netminder also posted a 9-5 record in 14 playoff games, a 2.17 GAA and a .936 save percentage.
Three restricted free agents were not tendered offers: Josh Brook, Kale Clague and Rem Pitlick.
Michael Pezzetta and Corey Schueneman both already agreed to terms on a new contract with the Canadiens.
