On February 16, 2008, Price
turned aside 34 shots against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Bell Centre
to earn the first of his 43 career shutouts thus far.
Price was the starter as the Canadiens faced the archrival Bruins in the first round of the playoffs, and he helped them to a first-round win over Boston in seven games. He blanked the Bruins twice in the series, becoming the first Montreal rookie to earn a playoff shutout since Roy in 1986,
according to CBC
.
In his sophomore season, Price was selected to play in the All-Star Game for the first time in his career. He has gone on to become a six-time All-Star, and though he was selected for a seventh time in 2018-19, he did not take part in this year's event in San Jose.
In 2014, Price represented his country again, this time as an Olympian. He was stellar in Sochi, allowing just three goals against in five contests. Price and Team Canada won gold, and Price was named the tournament's top goaltender with a 0.59 goals-against average, .972 save percentage, and two shutouts.
