MONTREAL - Forward Cole Caufield and defenseman Jordan Harris were selected by their respective squads to be candidates for the 2021 Hobey Baker Award, which is presented annually to the top NCAA player in the nation.
Caufield is on fire with the University of Wisconsin. Since claiming the goal medal with Team USA at the World Junior Hockey Championship in early January, the 20-year-old right-winger has registered 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) in 11 games.
Before Saturday night's contest against the University of Michigan, the Stevens Point, WI native was riding a 12-game point streak and a seven-game goal streak. Caufield, who was selected 15th overall by the Canadiens in 2019, currently sits atop the NCAA in both goals and points.
The Badgers sniper boasts 33 points (17 goals, 16 assists) in just 21 games. He is only two goals and one assist shy of matching his totals from last season in both categories.

For his part, Harris is now in his third season with Northeastern University. The 20-year-old defenseman, who serves as a Huskies alternate captain, has 16 points (5 goals, 11 assists) in 15 games this season.
