MONTREAL - Prospect Cayden Primeau is just one win away from securing his second consecutive Beanpot championship.

The Beanpot is an annual event pitting Boston's four major hockey schools against one another.
On Monday night, the 19-year-old sophomore netminder turned aside 26 shots to backstop Northeastern University to a 2-1 semi-final overtime victory over Boston University at TD Garden.
Among Primeau's key stops were a pair of breakaway saves on freshman and Philadelphia Flyers draft pick Joel Farabee during the second period.
Fast forward to the 2:12 mark of the clip below to see the stops.

"He had them from quite a ways out, so I just tried to get out as far as possible," said Primeau, when asked to describe his efforts against Farabee to keep things knotted up at one goal apiece. "The ice wasn't too great, so I didn't think he was going to try and do too much as far as the deke went. I just tried to get as big as possible and just seal the ice, and I just ended up on top."
It was Huskies freshman and Vancouver Canucks draft pick Tyler Madden who scored the game-winning goal just 51 seconds into the extra frame.

That earned the Huskies a spot in the title game on Monday, February 11 against Boston College after the Eagles eliminated Harvard University in the other semi-final.
"We knew we weren't leaving this building without a win, so that was the message going through the locker room," said Primeau, regarding the Huskies' mindset heading into OT. "Everyone was just trying to stay positive and have as much confidence as possible going into it because we knew we were going to come out on top."
Primeau, who claimed the Eberly Award last year as the goaltender with the tournament's best save percentage, boasts an impressive 14-7-1 record so far this season, along with a 2.36 goals-against average, a .922 save percentage and three shutouts.
