MONTREAL - The Canadiens assigned goaltender Cayden Primeau and defenseman Corey Schueneman to the AHL's Laval Rocket on Friday morning.

Primeau holds a 16-14-6-2 record in 37 games with the Canadiens' affiliate this season, with a 3.07 goals-against average and a 0.906 save percentage.
Called up from Laval on April 3, the 23-year-old netminder made 21 saves in Montreal's loss to Detroit on Tuesday. It was his third turn with the big club this season.
Likewise called up from the Rocket on April 3, Schueneman has five goals and 16 assists in 58 AHL games.
During his most recent stint in Montreal, he registered one point in four outings, bringing the 27-year-old's NHL total to seven (2G-5A) in 30 games.
