Cayden Primeau recalled from Laval on emergency basis

Primeau will serve as Sam Montembeault's backup tonight, Jake Allen is injured

MONTREAL -- The Canadiens recalled goaltender Cayden Primeau from the AHL's Laval Rocket on an emergency basis on Monday afternoon.

The move comes after veteran Jake Allen was listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Allen was slated to start tonight's game against the Kraken at the Bell Centre, but Sam Montembeault will start instead.
Primeau will serve as Montembeault's backup versus Seattle.
He has a 4-6-3 record in 13 appearances with Laval this season, along with a 3.65 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage.
Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. ET.
