BUFFALO - Here are excerpts of prospect Filip Zadina's scrum with reporters on Friday afternoon at the 2018 NHL Scouting Combine at HarborCenter.

Filip, how close are you to being ready to jump into the NHL as soon as next season?
FILIP ZADINA:As soon as I can. Right after the summer, I just want to be ready to go and just play for the team that drafts me.
What do you have to do between then and now to get your game and physical shape where it has to be?
FZ: I just want to be stronger and be faster. I just want to work on my lower and upper body and some cardio. I'll be ready.

Can you talk about your meeting with the Canadiens?
FZ: It was good, for sure. They gave me some simple questions about how I would describe myself and they asked me how my season was and how my family was.
Can you talk about Montreal as a possible landing spot for you?
FZ: We'll see. Maybe Montreal wants to trade their pick with another team. I would love to be there, but we'll see what happens.
How do you explain the fact that you adapted so well to North America?
FZ: It was a good season. I was lucky, too, because I was drafted by Halifax and they have a pretty good organization. We had a pretty good team, we had a young team. We played well. That's the reason I had a good season. I'm just glad I could be there.
Your style also fits really well here.
FZ: That's true. I can shoot the puck and I have good hands. The small rink is about quickness. I love being quick on the ice, so I can make myself a little bit more space on the ice and create chances.
