MONTREAL - The Canadiens suffered a 6-3 loss to the Lightning at the Bell Centre in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final.

After the contest, forward Phillip Danault, forward Brendan Gallagher, goaltender Carey Price and defenseman Shea Weber spoke with reporters via Zoom.
They were followed by interim head coach Dominique Ducharme.
Here are a few highlights from their respective chats:
Danault on keeping the faith in a difficult situation:
We were underestimated all year long. We're facing a good team. They capitalize on our mistakes. We need to be careful. We need to take things one game at a time, one shift at a time. We need to roll up our sleeves. We never gave up when we trailed 3-1 in the series against Toronto. I can guarantee that none of us are giving up now.

Danault and Gallagher on costly errors

Danault on why the beginning of the first period was particularly tough:
They're an excellent team. They capitalize on every mistake we make. Our mistakes are huge. We need to limit our mistakes. We need to make small plays. We just need to be better.

Gallagher on where things went wrong in Game 3:
Obviously, it wasn't the start we wanted. I don't have to explain that. We fell in a hole. We responded well. We came out in the second and we were playing good hockey, but then we made mistakes against a very good hockey team, and they make you pay. They're very opportunistic. For us, it's just important to not have those lulls in our game, especially when you're playing from behind and you're chasing. We're in a hole. It goes without saying. I can promise you one thing about this group, there won't be any quit. Every single guy is going to show up, and that belief we've talked about all year isn't going anywhere. We need to win Game 4 and go from there. That's all our focus is right now. It's all we can control, and that's what we're going to do.
Gallagher on the positives the group can bring into Monday night's encounter:
You just have to correct the mistakes. You're not going to sit here and take a whole lot of positives. We believe we can play with these guys. We believe we can skate with them. We just haven't shown it enough for a full 60 minutes. We've had spurts where everything we've talked about and everything we've done has worked. There's just been mistakes in our game. We're playing too good of a hockey team. They're deep everywhere. They're going to capitalize and they're going to make you pay. The positives are that this team has been in many holes, this team has been doubted, but the character in that locker room isn't going anywhere. We're going to keep competing and keep playing. In terms of how the games are being played, we need to get better.
Price on why the Canadiens can still rally in this series:
You don't have a choice. We've overcome adversity all season long. Our backs are obviously against the wall, so we're going to have to start bringing our best.

Price and Weber on the series deficit

Price on his play in the Stanley Cup Final to date:
I can definitely play better. It's just not good enough so far.

Weber on a disappointing start on home turf:
It's tough. We put ourselves in a hole early, and it's tough to dig yourself out of a hole against a team like that because they play pretty stingy.
Weber on which Lightning goal hurt the most:
I don't know, to be honest. It was an uphill battle all night chasing the game.
Ducharme on the Habs' costly mistakes:
They're all related to execution. It isn't more complicated than that. Every time we made a mistake, they made us pay.

Ducharme on the lack of execution

Ducharme on trailing 3-0 in the series and the approach to Game 4:
We can't look too far ahead. We'll get ready for Monday. It's just as simple as that. We have one game to win here. We'll prepare ourselves. We faced a lot of adversity during the regular season and in the playoffs. Our players have character. We'll just be ready for Monday.
