Harvey-Pinard and Savard hit the small screen

MIRABEL - Canadiens forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and defenseman David Savard traded in their traditional hockey sweaters for something a little more... flame retardant on the set of a TV shoot on Wednesday.

The pair were at the ICAR racing complex in Mirabel to film an episode of L'académie du guide de l'auto along with host Patrick Benoit, to be aired on TVA in the fall.

Decked out in the series' traditional black and green racing suits, the local Habs got behind the wheel for a test drive before hitting a paved obstacle course to see how their skills stacked up. The rain also got in on the fun, adding a bit of difficulty (and stress) to the mix.

Harvey-Pinard may be known as feisty, fearless and fast on the ice, but the asphalt brought out another side of the Saguenay native. Let's just say the pedal didn't quite hit the metal like it did in his most recent season. "I think I was more stressed than I was in my NHL debut," laughed the 24 year old.

So focused on the task at hand that the production team initially wondered if the on-board mics were working, but RHP quickly got the hang of things, even throwing the vehicle hard into a turn - and exiting with a smile.

Between the racing action, the two players likewise tested out some upcoming

, while Harvey-Pinard took the

Canadiens' NHL Draft Lottery Simulator

for a spin to mixed results ahead of the May 8 event.
