Jake Allen earns October Molson Cup

MONTREAL - Goaltender Jake Allen is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of October.

Allen was selected third star of the game once on October 13 in Toronto, and first star of the game once on October 28 in San Jose. He finished ahead of teammates Mathieu Perreault and Jonathan Drouin.
In eight games in October, the 31-year-old netminder posted a 2-6-0 record with a 2.91 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. Allen recorded his first shutout with the Canadiens on October 28 against the San Jose Sharks in a 4-0 win with 45 saves, tying a career high.
A ceremony honoring the October Molson Cup winner will take place ahead of tonight's game against the Detroit Red Wings at the Bell Centre.
