MONTREAL -- Joshua Roy was named to Team Canada for the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship on Monday.

The 19-year-old forward is making his second straight trip to the tournament.
Roy registered eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) in seven games last year to help Canada win the gold medal.
The St-Georges-de-Beauce, QC native is enjoying another outstanding season with the QMJHL's Sherbrooke Phoenix. He has 43 points (18 goals, 25 assists) in 26 games.

Roy was a fifth-round pick of Montreal - 150th overall - in the 2021 NHL Draft.
Fellow Canadiens prospects Owen Beck and Riley Kidney were both cut.
The tournament will be held in Halifax, NS and Moncton, NB from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.
