MONTREAL -- Defenseman Lane Hutson was named to the preliminary roster of the 2023 U.S. National Junior Team on Monday.
Hutson will participate in the upcoming training camp at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, MI from Dec. 12 to 17. Thirty-two players - including 10 defensemen - were named to the preliminary roster. Twenty-three players will comprise the final group that competes in the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Moncton, NB and Halifax, NS.

Hutson, 18, is enjoying an outstanding freshman season at Boston University with 17 points (6 goals, 11 assists) in 14 games. The North Barrington, IL native ranks second in team scoring, and his average of 1.21 points per game ranks second nationally among rearguards.
