BROSSARD – Patrik Laine inched closer to his much-anticipated Canadiens debut, practicing in a standard jersey at the CN Sports Complex on Monday.

He was one of 23 players on the ice for the session.

Laine, Lucas Condotta and Michael Pezzetta were the extras up front. Defenseman Mike Matheson was absent Monday, taking a therapy day instead.

The team announced prior to practice the recall of Joshua Roy from the Laval Rocket. The 21-year-old forward has totaled 16 points in 17 AHL games this season.
