Called up from the AHL on November 23, Barberio played six games with the Habs, registering one assist with a plus-1 differential during his stint in Montreal.
Hudon for his part suffered a fractured sternum just prior to the team's departure on a 12-day road trip two weeks ago. The 22-year-old played three games with the big club, registering two assists with a plus-1 differential.
The Canadiens also recalled Sven Andrighetto later in the day, marking a second call-up for the Swiss forward this season.
In November, the right winger played four games with the Habs, registering seven shots on goal while being held scoreless.
The 23 year old has played 60 career NHL games to date - all with Montreal - racking up 20 points over that span, including nine goals.
Andrighetto is the IceCaps top point-getter in the AHL this season, with seven goals and 13 assists through 18 games.
The Canadiens enjoyed a day off on Wednesday after spending the last 12 days on the road. The team will be back in action at the Bell Centre on Thursday, against the New Jersey Devils.
