Pacioretty-Mete

BOSTON - The Canadiens announced on Saturday that forward Max Pacioretty and defenseman Victor Mete were headed back to Montreal. The pair had each left Friday night's game against the Islanders in Brooklyn with injuries and did not return.

Pacioretty's is a lower-body injury, while in the case of Mete, it's a hand injury. Both players will undergo further evaluation by the club's medical staff upon their return.
In 64 games this season, Pacioretty has amassed 17 goals and 20 assists. Mete, for his part, has averaged 15:35 of ice time in his rookie season on the backend this year, recording seven assists and a plus-five differential in 49 games.
The Habs called up defenseman Rinat Valiev from the AHL's Laval Rocket postgame on Friday. He will join the team in Boston on Saturday.
