The Canadiens assigned defenseman Mikhail Sergachev to the OHL's Windsor Spitfires on Monday
The 18-year-old played just three games for the Canadiens this season, registering zero points and a plus-1 differential along the way. The Canadiens' first-round pick in 2016, Sergachev hadn't suited up since the October 20 tilt against the Arizona Coyotes. You'll recall that the Spitfires will play host to the Memorial Cup next May.
