MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Monday that the team has acquired a fifth-round pick in 2021 from the Philadelphia Flyers, in return for Nate Thompson.
Acquired in a trade from Los Angeles on February 11, 2019, Thompson has recorded 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists) and 103 hits in 63 games with the Canadiens this season. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound forward played his 700th NHL game on October 9, 2019 at Buffalo. Since his debut in 2006-07, Thompson has registered 155 points (62 goals, 93 assists) in 760 regular-season contests with Boston, NY Islanders, Tampa Bay, Anaheim, Ottawa, Los Angeles and Montreal.
