MONTREAL – Michael Pezzetta scored twice, and the Canadiens blanked the New Jersey Devils 3-0 at the Bell Centre on Tuesday.

Captain Nick Suzuki completed the scoring.

Tuesday’s roster mostly featured players who did not play on Monday against the Flyers, headlined by Suzuki, Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky.

Speaking of the Slovak, the 20-year-old posed for a group pic with fellow countrymen Simon Nemec and Filip Mesar, effectively recreating the photo of the three of them taken at the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal.

While many Habs were making their 2024 preseason debut, Caufield premiered his No. 13 jersey for the first time in game action. Formerly sporting No. 22, the winger changed his number in honor of one of his heroes and friends Johnny Gaudreau, who tragically passed away in August.

Former Habs Jake Allen and Johnathan Kovacevic faced Montreal for the first time since being traded in March and June to the Devils, respectively.

Samuel Montembeault and Connor Hughes shared the net tonight, combining for a total of 24 saves.
