MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Cédric Paquette on a one-year contract. The deal is valued at $950,000.

Paquette skated in 47 games in 2020-21 with the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators, registering four goals and four assists with the two teams. The 27-year-old also served 21 penalty minutes. The Gaspé, QC native appeared in four playoff games with Carolina as well, collecting one assist.
Paquette has played 424 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Senators and Hurricanes during his NHL career. The 6'00'' and 204 lbs forward scored 51 goals and added 42 assists, in addition to serving 366 penalty minutes. Paquette has 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists) in 95 career playoff games. The left-handed centermen also won the Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay in 2019-20.
Paquette was selected in the fourth round (101st overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning at the 2012 NHL Draft.
