Numbers Game

MONTREAL - Here's a numerical look at Tuesday night's game against the Anaheim Ducks at the Bell Centre.

2 - This was the second time this season that the Canadiens wore their white jerseys at home. They had also done so on December 13 when the Carolina Hurricanes came to town, a game the Habs won 6-4. Jeff Petry had scored a pair of goals that night, but it was Andrew Shaw who scored the game-winner in a high-scoring third period at the Bell Centre.
20 - When Brendan Gallagher opened the scoring at 7:11 of the first period, he scored his 20th goal of the season. The Canadiens' alternate captain set a career high in goals last year with 31, and also reached the 20-goal mark in 2014-15 when he notched 24, but he also scored 19 goals in a season on three separate occasions. This was also the fifth time that Gallagher had scored the first goal of the game. That ties him for the team lead with Tomas Tatar and Max Domi. Gallagher added a second goal later in the first period.

3 - After scoring in consecutive games for the first time in his career, Jesperi Kotkaniemi decided to do it again. Just 2:25 after Gallagher gave the Habs the lead, the Finnish rookie buried a rebound off Joel Armia's shot past Anaheim netminder Chad Johnson to make it 2-0. With the goal, Kotkaniemi becomes the first 18-year-old in franchise history to score in three consecutive games. He now has 26 points on the season, just 13 away from matching Mario Tremblay's 39 recorded in 1974-75, the most in club history by an 18-year-old.

8 - A video review confirmed that Phillip Danault scored his 10th goal of the season in the third period, a goal which rang the score up to 4-1. Danault becomes the eighth Canadiens player to reach the 10-goal mark this season after Gallagher, Max Domi, Tomas Tatar, Jonathan Drouin, Andrew Shaw, Jeff Petry, and Paul Byron.
3 - Drouin earned assists on three goals against the Ducks. It was the second time this season the 23-year-old had a three-point night, after getting a goal and two assists on December 4 in a 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators. Drouin now has seven points in his last five games.
17 - With the win, Claude Julien moved into a tie with Jacques Martin for 17th-most wins as a head coach in the NHL. Julien, who won the Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2010-11, has a 613-397-10-137 record in 1,157 games behind the bench over 17 seasons with the Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, and Bruins.
