Cole Caufield responded for the Canadiens with his 12th goal of the season, blasting a slap shot past goaltender Craig Anderson.
Kaiden Guhle and David Savard picked up the assists.

The Canadiens were down by a pair after 20 minutes.
Jeff Skinner extended the visitors' lead to 4-1 at the 11:21 mark of the second period.
But Sean Monahan answered back 2:36 later with a wonderful solo effort for his fourth goal of the season.
