MONTREAL - The Canadiens' winning streak was snapped at two games on Thursday night with a 3-2 loss to the Senators at the Bell Centre.

It was the first of six "Adidas Reverse Retro games presented by RONA" this season, so the Habs were sporting their blue alternate jerseys for the contest.

They're pretty sweet, right? Fortunately, we get to see a lot more of them. They'll be featured again on February 11 (vs. EDM), February 20 (vs. TOR), March 4 (vs. WPG), March 20 (vs. VAN) and March 24 (vs. EDM).
There were a couple of lineup changes to report. Carey Price was back in between the pipes after being given the night off against the Canucks earlier in the week, and rookie blueliner Alexander Romanov returned to duty alongside Brett Kulak. Victor Mete was a healthy scratch.

Captain Shea Weber, meanwhile, was calm and cool during the pregame warmups before being honored by the Canadiens for playing his 1,000th career NHL game on Tuesday night.

The ceremony began with a tribute video that included highlights and congratulatory messages from former teammates and friends.

Brendan Gallagher opened the scoring at the 10:31 mark of the first period, burying a rebound off a Tomas Tatar shot past Senators goaltender Matt Murray.
Gallagher's fifth goal of the season was also assisted by Phillip Danault, who was playing in his 350th career NHL game.

It was the ninth time in 11 games that the Habs were the first team to get on the scoreboard.
Ottawa responded with a pair of goals in quick succession before the period was done, though.
After Thomas Chabot tied things up at the 19:21 mark, German rookie sensation Tim Stützle scored a power play goal 19 seconds later to put the Senators up 2-1.
That's the way things stood after 20 minutes. Montreal was outshooting Ottawa 12-9 at the break.
During the intermission, the Habs shared some more special moments from the pregame ceremony honoring Weber's latest accomplishment.
He was presented with a silver stick by the team's alternate captains - Gallagher and Paul Byron.

Forward Connor Brown scored the Senators' third straight goal, tipping an Erik Brannstrom shot past Price to give Ottawa a 3-1 advantage with 8:12 elapsed in the middle frame.
Stützle collected his second assist of the night on the play.
That was the lone goal in the period. Montreal led 20-17 in the shots department after 40 minutes.
It's safe to say the highlight of the period for the Habs was this solid hit by Romanov on Chabot.

Josh Anderson scored a short-handed goal with 1:29 left in regulation to cut into the Senators' lead. It was his seventh goal of the season.

Unfortunately, that's as close as the Canadiens would get.
While Montreal outshot Ottawa by a 38-22 margin, Murray was solid in between the pipes to help his squad earn their first victory since their season-opener on January 15.
The Canadiens will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they battle the Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Puck drop is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.
