"It's a good sign, it's a positive. He should gradually start practicing with contact and so on, but the plan was to have him on the ice with his teammates this morning," explained Dominique Ducharme. "I don't have his test results to know exactly where he's at, but it was good to see him on the ice."
On the ice and off the ice, as it were.
"It was just nice to see him skate with the guys this morning. He's obviously a good player and a good guy to have around the room," described Jeff Petry while addressing the media pregame. "He makes the room light. He likes to have fun, so I think he'll be a guy that we're looking forward to getting back for multiple reasons."
Price not expected at practice next week
Ducharme also issued a brief update on Carey Price during his pregame press conference, indicating that the Canadiens goaltender is not expected to be at practice next week.
