PRESS RELEASE
MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Sunday that 24 players have been released from training camp. Twenty-one (21) of the 24 players have been reassigned to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

The following players have been assigned to St. John's:
Justin Baker, Jérémie Blain, Tim Bozon, David Broll, Mathieu Coderre-Gagnon, Connor Crisp, Philip DeSimone, Josiah Didier, Markus Eisenschmid, Bobby Farnham (b), Max Friberg (b), Zachary Fucale, Joel Hanley, Ryan Johnston, Brett Lernout, Mark MacMillan, Stefano Momesso, Thomas Parisi, Philip Samuelsson (b), Dalton Thrower and Yannick Veilleux.
(w) - requires NHL waivers before being assigned to IceCaps.
Defenseman Noah Juulsen (Everett - WHL) and goaltender Michael McNiven (Owen Sound - OHL) were reassigned to their respective junior teams. The Club also released defenseman Yuri Alexandrov (NHL pro try-out).
There are still 36 players at camp (23 forwards, 9 defensemen, 4 goaltenders).
The IceCaps will begin their training camp in Newfoundland on October 3. They will play three preseason games against the Toronto Marlies on October 6, 7 and 9.
