MONTREAL - "I just want to let you know that you're not alone. I'm thinking about you, and you have a lot of people around you that care very deeply for you."

That was Carey Price's message for a pair of Nova Scotia youngsters who lost their parents last month in the worst mass shooting in Canadian history.
Greg and Jamie Blair were among the 22 victims killed at the hands of a lone gunman across five rural communities on April 18th and 19th.

They left behind four children - Tyler, 27, Craig, 24, Alex, 11, and Jack, 10.
The Canadiens goaltender addressed brothers Alex and Jack directly in the recording, offering up a message of empathy, compassion and hope.
"You can and you will get through this because of the character that was given to you by your parents," mentioned Price. "I'm hoping the very best for you guys in the future."

Alex and Jack now live with Tyler and his girlfriend, Jade, and their baby daughter, Hayden, just outside of Truro, NS.
And Tyler will always remember the moment he put Price's recording up on his laptop monitor for the boys to enjoy.
To say that it caught them completely off guard would be an understatement.
"They didn't believe it was real at first. They're still finding it hard to believe," explained Tyler. "I don't even know if we can put that into words. For my little brothers, they'll remember that for the rest of their lives. They'll have the video forever to watch whenever they want."
The eldest of the Blair children says Alex "was just blown away" when Price first appeared on the screen and addressed him by name.
Alex is actually a goaltender himself, and the 13-year NHL veteran is his hockey idol.
It's a real Canadiens household, in fact.
"We're a big-time Habs family," confirmed Tyler. "My father was a die-hard fan, and he took us to a few games in Montreal growing up. I usually try and get up there once every two years to see a game."
Tyler and Jade just happened to be in attendance when Price became the all-time wins leader in franchise history in March 2019, surpassing Hall of Famer, Jacques Plante.

Experiencing that moment at the Bell Centre was incredibly special, but Price's effort to comfort his family during this difficult time was nothing short of phenomenal.
And he can't thank him enough.
"It brought a couple of tears to my eyes because you could really tell he meant every word," concluded Tyler. "That was right from the heart."
