MONTREAL - Goaltender Sam Montembeault is the Molson Cup recipient for January. He follows Jonathan Drouin, who won it in December.

Montembeault was selected first star of the game once (on January 18 in Dallas). He finished ahead of Christian Dvorak.
In nine games in January, the 25-year-old netminder posted a 1-3-2 record with a .889 save percentage and a 4.43 goals-against average. He also became the first goaltender in team history to record 48 saves or more in two straight games (January 18 in Dallas and January 20 in Vegas).
A short ceremony honoring Montembeault will take place ahead of tonight's game against the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre.
