The native of Hopkinton, MA is eligible to play in this year's Olympics because he isn't signed to an NHL contract and is currently playing collegiate hockey.
Farrell, a fourth-round pick in 2020, is in his first season in the NCAA with Harvard University following his record-breaking 2020-21 campaign in the USHL, in which he put up 101 points (29G, 72A) in 53 games en route to being named that league's Player of the Year.
He has 19 points (8G, 11A) in 13 games this season with the Crimson, who play in the NCAA's ECAC conference.
The Olympic men's hockey tournament begins on February 9 in Beijing.
