MONTREAL - Captain Shea Weber registered his third multi-goal game in a Canadiens uniform on Saturday night.

It was his first multi-goal effort since December 5, 2017 when Claude Julien's contingent played host to the St. Louis Blues at the Bell Centre.
That night, Weber's first tally was also the 500th point of his NHL career.

His second marker was a point blast that beat Blues starter Jake Allen five-hole.

Prior to that, the veteran blueliner scored twice on home turf against the Florida Panthers on October 24, 2017.
Both goals were trademark Weber strikes that left Panthers starter James Reimer completely helpless.

Then there was his latest effort against the New York Rangers, leading the Canadiens to a big win.
Weber displayed the full extent of his offensive prowess, scoring on a slap shot, before adding a rare breakaway goal.
Rangers netminder Alexandar Georgiev was the victim this time around.

It was the 18th multi-goal game of Weber's career.
He has one career hat-trick as well while still a member of the Nashville Predators. All three of those goals were scored on the power play.
