However, what I will never understand is how it feels to be treated like an outsider because of the colour of my skin. With that understanding, I recognize that silence sends a far more harmful message than speaking out ever could.
As an athlete and a teammate I firmly believe that we are stronger together than we ever will be apart. It saddens me to think of the skill and talent we lose to division, what knowledge have we lost to this segregation?
Be the change you want to see. Take time to listen, and learn. Stay safe, respect, love and honour one another. We all need to do better, for each other, for our world.
