Sergachev and his Russian teammates earned the bronze medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships on Thursday night at the Bell Centre with a 2-1 overtime victory over Sweden. The 18-year-old blue-liner was held off the scoresheet in his team's final game.
Denis Guryanov scored the bronze medal-clinching goal for Team Russia 31 seconds into overtime in the matinee medal round game.

Things didn't turn out as planned for the Canadiens' other hopeful in action on Thursday night, Noah Juulsen, as Team Canada had to settle for the silver medal following a thrilling 5-4 shootout loss to Team USA at the Bell Centre.
The defenseman was held off the scoresheet during the game, but amassed two shots on goal. He finished the night with a minus-1 differential.
It was a particularly heartbreaking loss for Canada, who enjoyed a pair of two-goal leads during the game. Thomas Chabot, Jeremy Lauzon, Nicolas Roy, and Mathieu Joseph all scored for the Canadians in the silver-medal finish.
