The first 1909 Taverne Moderne, located in downtown Montreal and designed by the New York-based Rockwell Group, will feature three levels, 25,714 sq. ft., and have a capacity of over 1,000 guests, making it the largest restaurant of its kind in the country. The menu will feature locally-sourced international cuisine, with 40 taps offering international, domestic, and locally crafted beers, an extensive wine list, and an innovative cocktail menu, creating a casual dining experience for fans of every sport.
A new gathering place that will provide guests with the ultimate sports viewing experience, the Bell Centre location will include the latest technology in laser projections, a 4K-quality 46' X 20' main screen - the first of its kind in Canada - and over 65 HD TVs, fed by the most comprehensive sports broadcast package available. The restaurant will also feature a host DJ seven days a week.
"We know that Montrealers are as discerning about their restaurants as they are about their sports. With 1909 Taverne Moderne, our goal is to give fans a space where they won't have to choose between having a great meal and watching their favorite event in an electric atmosphere," said Montreal Canadiens Owner, President, and CEO, Geoff Molson. "We've been working with our partners at Cara Operations to ensure that every detail is considered. We're very excited about this new venture and are looking forward to welcoming fans to 1909 in time for the start of the new NHL season."
