Leucan - Saturday, November 5, 2016
On Saturday, November 5, as part of a League-wide initiative, the Montreal Canadiens will dedicate their home game against the Philadelphia Flyers to children members of Leucan, an association that has dedicated itself over the past 35 years to helping cancer-stricken children and their families believe in a brighter future. Several corporate suite holders at the Bell Centre will provide their support to the Montreal Canadiens organization in this initiative by hosting more than 70 young members of Leucan and their parents in their suites for the game. The children and their parents will attend a pre-game reception hosted by the players' spouses and enjoy a post-game meet and greet with a few players along with team mascot Youppi! For the occasion, the coaching staff, team management and members of the organization will be wearing specially designed lavender Hockey Fights Cancer ties. In addition, the National Hockey League will make a $5,000 donation to Leucan at a pre-game ceremony held in the Director's Lounge at the Bell Centre.
Movember - Men's cancer and mental health - November 1 to 30, 2016
Throughout the month of November, some Montreal Canadiens players will participate in the Movember campaign to raise awareness and funds for prostate and testicular cancer as well as mental health. The November 8 game against the Boston Bruins will be dedicated to Movember. Gentlemen, drop your razors!
PROCURE - Saturday, November 12, 2016
On November 12, the Montreal Canadiens will dedicate their home game against the Detroit Red Wings to PROCURE, an organization supported by the team as part of the Hockey Fights Cancer Program. On that night, a booth located across from section 103 will provide information on PROCURE's mission of providing scientific assistance and accessible information to the public as a means to help prevent and cure prostate cancer. This year, PROCURE can count on the support of defenceman Jeff Petry and Alumnus Steve Bégin, as official ambassadors of the 2016 BOWVEMBER campaign.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada - Tuesday, November 15, 2016
As national partner of the campaign, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada will take centre stage on Tuesday, November 15, when the Florida Panthers will be in Montreal to take on the Canadiens. On that night, several activities will take place behind section 103 prior to the opening face-off and throughout the game to provide information on LLSC's mission of finding a cure to leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. Children who are currently fighting these diseases will get to watch the game in the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation's suite and will also have the opportunity to meet a player afterwards.
