MONTREAL -- Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Sunday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Jake Evans on a three-year, one-way contract extension worth $1.7 million AAV (2022-23 to 2024-25).

Evans registered 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists) in his first full NHL season in 2020-21, playing 47 games with the Canadiens. The 25-year-old center also skated in seven playoff contests, collecting one goal and one assist, and serving four penalty minutes.
The Toronto, ON native has played 60 career NHL games since making his debut in 2019-20. The right-handed forward has produced five goals and added 11 assists, including one short-handed goal. Evans also played 118 games with the AHL's Laval Rocket, amassing 83 points (27 goals, 56 assists), in addition to serving 52 penalty minutes.
Evans was selected in the seventh round (207th overall) by the Canadiens at the 2014 NHL Draft.
