MONTREAL (July 14, 2022) - Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract (2022-23 to 2024-25) with forward Filip Mesar.
Mesar played 37 games with the Poprad HK in Slovakia's Extraliga, amassing 16 points (8 goals, 8 assists) while serving eight penalty minutes. The 18-year-old forward also added three goals and one assist in six playoff games. Mesar also recorded 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists) in seven games with the Slovakia U18 team. The Kezmarok, Slovakia native was selected 26th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft.
