MONTREAL - Tyler Toffoli's tenure with the Canadiens began in style.

The 28-year-old right-winger was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday for his outstanding production over the last four outings.
During that span, Toffoli led the NHL in goals (5), points (tied; 8) and plus/minus (tied; +6), helping Montreal become the second team in League history to record a point in each of its first six games of a season - and each of those contests took place on road ice.
He picked up his first point in a Habs uniform with an assist against the Oilers on January 18 at Rogers Place, before making a triumphant return to British Columbia where he exploded offensively.

Toffoli registered a hat trick on January 20 at Rogers Arena in his first game against his former team.

That was followed by a two-goal performance versus Vancouver the next night as well.

In doing so, Toffoli became the first player in League history to score each of his first five goals with a franchise against his previous squad.
The Scarborough, ON native then extended his point streak to four straight games with a helper in the road trip finale over the weekend.
Toffoli currently leads the Canadiens in goals and points through six encounters.
Rounding out the "Three Stars" of the week were Dallas Stars center Joe Pavelski and Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson.
