Updates from optional practice – Jan. 8

BROSSARD – The Canadiens held a staggered optional practice at the CN Sports Complex on Wednesday.

First came the forwards, accompanied by assistant coach Trevor Letowski, coach consultant Roger Grillo, and director of hockey development Adam Nicholas.

Later on, the defensemen ran through drills with Grillo and Nicholas.

Finally, goalies Samuel Montembeault and Jakub Dobes put in some work with goalie coach Eric Raymond on the secondary rink.

Defenseman David Savard also skated briefly. He was not in full equipment.

The Canadiens have a weekend back-to-back coming up. They head to Washington to take on the Capitals on Friday night before returning to the Bell Centre to face the Dallas Stars on Saturday. For tickets to that game, click here.
