MONTREAL -- Prospect Kaiden Guhle will represent Canada at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The 19-year-old defenseman will be making his second consecutive appearance at the annual tournament after claiming silver last year.
Guhle is enjoying a standout WHL campaign with 18 points (3 goals, 15 assists) in 20 games between the Prince Albert Raiders and Edmonton Oil Kings, who acquired him via trade on December 1.
The Sherwood Park, AB native was selected 16th overall by Montreal in the 2020 NHL Draft.
Fellow Habs prospect Joshua Roy didn't make the cut and was released by Canada brass.

The Championship will run from December 26 - January 5 in Edmonton and Red Deer, AB.
Canada will open preliminary round play on Boxing Day against the Czech Republic, before battling Austria (December 28), Germany (December 29) and Finland (December 31).
