Allvin, 47, has spent the past 16 seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins, most recently serving as Assistant General Manager. In this role he was involved in all aspects of hockey operations and oversaw the Penguins' amateur scouting efforts in North America and Europe. Prior to this, Allvin was Pittsburgh's Director of Amateur Scouting from 2017-20, served as head European scout from 2012-17, and as a European scout from 2006-12.
The Leksand, Sweden native broke into the scouting ranks as a European scout for the Montreal Canadiens from 2002-06. Prior to scouting, he enjoyed a nine-year playing career as a defenceman between various leagues in North America and Europe.
His first seasons in North America were from 1995-97 where he played for the Atlanta Knights and Quebec Rafales of the IHL, and for the Nashville Knights and Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL. While in Europe, Allvin dressed with Arvika HC (1993-94), IK Vita Hasten (1994-95), Bodens IK (1997-98), Mora IK (1998-99, 2000-02), Leksands IF (1999-00) and Sparta Sarpsborg (2000-01).
