Roussel, 28, scored 17 points (5-12-17) in 73 games played last season with the Stars and logged 126 penalty minutes. In 413 career NHL games with Dallas, the Roubaix, France native has recorded 141 points (64-77-141) and 806 penalty minutes. Roussel has five points (2-3-5) and 43 penalty minutes in 19 career post season games.
Internationally, Roussel has represented France at the World Championships in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He was voted to the Media All-Star team in 2014 after scoring 11 points (6-5-11) in eight games.
Undrafted, Rousell was invited to the Vancouver Canucks prospect camp in 2011, signing a contract with the team's AHL affiliate for the 2011.12 season. He signed as a free agent with Dallas in July, 2012.
