Brogan

Brogan Rafferty will make his NHL debut tonight when the Canucks face the Predators in Nashville. That means a lot of fans will Google his name to find out everything possible about the newcomer.

Rafferty has a tip for everyone: "Type in hockey after my name or you're in for a scare."
Despite Brogan Rafferty being a very unique name, there is another Brogan Rafferty of note. He's known as the Craigslist Killer and was sentenced to life in prison, with no chance of parole, in Ohio in late 2012 for aggravated murder and attempted murder in the deaths of three men and wounding of a fourth.
That is not the Brogan Rafferty who will be paired with Ben Hutton Thursday night.

"I get asked about that a lot," said Rafferty after morning skate. "I don't have the most common name, so it's a pretty weird thing. I remember when the news first broke about it, I was sitting with my dad eating lunch and his phone started blowing up. What's going on with Brogan? What's going on with Brogan?? And we didn't know what was going on."
Turns out an Ohio news station ran a photo of Brogan Rafferty the hockey player on their newscast saying he was Brogan Rafferty the killer. Much confusion ensued for the Rafferty family, especially parents Brian and Deirdre, who will be at Brogan's debut tonight.
"My mom was so worried. That Brogan was close to the same age too, so she didn't think I'd ever get a job because people would always confuse us."
Hopefully this clears things up, again.
