If you've been to a Canucks game and Vancouver isn't playing well, but the Larscheiders are in the house, it never gets quiet.

What's a Larscheider? Good question. Named after the legendary former Canucks radio broadcaster Tom Larscheid, the Larscheiders are a group of dedicated fans that come to games and overhaul the atmosphere of Rogers Arena. For select games during the season they can be found in rows 7 to 15 in sections 325 & 326 - not that you have to look to find them. Once the cheering starts, the cheering doesn't stop.
Rob Williams, aka @RobTheHockeyGuy, aka sports editor with Daily Hive Vancouver, and friend Carlo Bodrogi co-founded the group together last season through a Facebook group sent out to the biggest hockey fans they knew. Seemingly overnight the group was 100 people strong and when the Canucks hosted the Winnipeg Jets on December 20th, 2016, the group made its debut.
The response was unbelievable.

"That first game there was an incredible energy and the reception we got from other fans was amazing," said Williams. "We had people within the group saying it was the most fun they've ever had at a Canucks game, we had people from neighbouring sections complimenting us on being so lively and there were even a couple Jets fans who said they liked what we were doing. That was really the beginning of it. After that first game, we knew this would be something big."
The Larscheiders, although nameless at the time, attended four games last season, adding a jolt of energy to the atmosphere in Rogers Arena every time. This past summer they regrouped to see how they could take things a step further and that's when the name "Larscheiders" was born.
"Larscheid brought passion to the airwaves," it reads in the groups founding principles on its Facebook page. "He loved the team and his excitement was infectious. That's what we're trying to do too. Make him proud to be associated with us."
Three home games have been Larscheided so far this season, with the group gathering again this Sunday when the Canucks host the Calgary Flames. They'll be at a game in January, one in February and finally one in March as they look to improve on their impressive record.
Vancouver is 3-1-3 in games supported by the Larscheiders. Williams doesn't think it's a coincidence the Canucks have points in six of those seven games.

"Having fans cheer not just after a goal or big play, but to encourage and help lift the team is huge," he said "That's the home ice advantage every team is looking for. It's fun to help provide it for the Canucks."
Some of the Larscheiders' staples include a Bo Horvat chant ("Every time he hits the ice we start to drum and a low, slow Bo chant begins that ramps up and gets louder and faster."), a power play chant ("When we have possession in the offensive zone we say OOOOOOO until the Canucks shoot the puck, then everyone yells YAAAA.") and a penalty kill chant ("We BOOOO the other team when they have the puck in the Canucks end.")
The Larscheiders also have a large banner above their sections, a drum and large cutouts of player heads. Williams wanted to make it clear those are the only big heads within this group.

"We're not a group of chest thumpers trying to out cheer everyone in Rogers Arena. We're not above anyone else and that's why we went with the name Larscheiders; this is about having fun. We're trying to bring some energy and some passion and some fun to watching Canucks games. If people want to be a part of that, the more the merrier!"
Ryan Nicholas, Canucks senior director of Content and Game Entertainment, appreciates having the Larscheiders in arena.
"We love having the Larscheiders here and we're happy to do anything we can to support them," said Nicholas. "They add a ton to the atmosphere in the building and their enthusiasm is contagious."
