Canucks prospects heading to World Junior camps

Six Canucks prospects could take centre stage at the World Juniors later this month.

Michael DiPietro, Kole Lind and Jonah Gadjovich were named to Team Canada's Selection Camp Thursday; the three were part of 32 players that earned an invite to Canada's National Junior Team camp in St. Catherines, Ontario from December 12-15. DiPietro, Lind and Gadjovich all attended the World Junior Summer Showcase and are now one step closer to wearing the red-and-white at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship, running December 26, 2017 to January 5, 2018.

In the OHL, DiPietro is 16-7-0, with two shutouts, this season for the Windsor Spitfires, while Gadjovich, a forward with the Owen Sound Attack, has 14 goals and 25 points in 19 games this season. In the WHL, the Kelowna Rockets have been led by Lind and his 12 goals and 34 points in 21 games.

All three are members of the Canucks 2017 Draft class, as is first rounder Elias Pettersson, who has been tearing up the Swedish Hockey League, leading in points with 31 in 24 games AS A 19-YEAR-OLD. This isn't new information, but it's worth repeating again and again. Pettersson has received an invite to Team Sweden's camp.

Finland and USA have also released their list of camp invitees, with both Olli Juolevi and Will Lockwood getting invitations.
Juolevi, Vancouver's first round pick from 2016, is having a solid season in Finland playing for TPS Turku, with five goals and 13 points in 18 games on the blueline.

University of Michigan forward Lockwood, another 2016 Canucks draftee, has four goals and 11 points in 14 games.
