The Washington Capitals will host their 2022 Prospect Development Camp from July 11 to July 15 at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. All on-ice sessions are free and open to the public.

Capitals Development Camp is an annual, week-long summer session with on- and off-ice workouts designed to help Capitals prospects improve their games and allow the Capitals to evaluate their progress. This is the Capitals' first Development Camp since 2019.
Attendees include Capitals prospects who are under contract and recent Capitals draft picks who have not been signed yet. In addition, several undrafted and free agent amateur players will be in attendance.
Development Camp will conclude on Friday, July 15 with an Open House and Scrimmage at Capital One Arena. Doors open at 6 p.m., with Capitals prospects participating in a scrimmage at 7 p.m.
The event is free and open to the general public and offers fans the opportunity to test drive season ticket locations at Capital One Arena for the 2022-23 season.
Fans are asked to RSVP at WashCaps.com/OpenHouse. Current Club Red 365 members will receive a special invitation to the event directly from the Capitals Membership Services team.
The game will be streamed live on the Monumental Sports Network and on Washington Capitals social media channels.

Development Camp Notes:
Newest Editions - All seven selections from the Capitals' 2022 NHL Draft class will attend this year's Development Camp. The Capitals selected left wing Ivan Miroshnichenko (first round, 20th overall), defenseman Ryan Chesley (second round, 37th overall), left wing Alexander Suzdalev (third round, 70th overall), left wing Ludwig Persson (third round, 85th overall), center Jake Karabela (fifth round, 149th overall), center Ryan Hofer (sixth round, 181st overall) and defenseman David Gucciardi (seventh round, 213th overall).
Seasoned Rookie - Hendrix Lapierre will be the sole player with NHL ex- perience participating in the 2022 Capitals Development Camp. The Gatin- eau, Quebec native scored his first career goal in his NHL debut vs. the New York Rangers on Oct. 13, 2021. Lapierre appeared in six games for Washington last season.
New Kids on the Block - Eight players made their NHL debuts with the Capitals during the 2021-22 season, including six players originally drafted by Washington. Martin Fehervary led Capitals' rookies in games played (79), hits (251), plus/minus rating (+15) and time on ice per game (19:39). Forward Connor McMichael's nine goals and 18 points led all rookies, while his nine assists were tied with Fehervary for the most among the team's rookie class. In 33 games with the Capitals in his rookie season, forward Aliaksei Protas registered nine points (3g, 6a) and led all rookies with 32:29 of power play time. Additionally, three former first round selections made their NHL debuts with the Capitals during the 2021-22 season (Alexander Alexeyev, Hendrix Lapierre & Lucas Johansen). Johansen, 24, made his NHL debut at Detroit on Dec. 31, where he registered his first career assist and point. Alexeyev, the Capitals' first-round choice, 31st overall in the 2018 NHL Draft, made his NHL debut vs. Nashville on Dec. 29.
College Connections - Seventeen players attending this year's Development Camp played for college programs during the 2021-22 season. Mitchell Gibson posted collegiate career highs in goals-against average (2.17), save percentage (.918) and wins (18) during his junior seasons at Harvard University. Additionally, Gibson ranked second among ECAC goaltenders in win percentage (.638) and was named to the ECAS All-Star Team. Clay Stevenson earned six of Dartmouth's (NCAA) seven wins in his sophomore season, leading the Big Green in wins (6), save percentage (.922), goals-against average (2.70) and shutouts (2). The 6'4", 195-pound goaltender posted a save percentage above .900 in all 23 games this season and his .922 save percentage was tied for second in the ECAC. Additionally, Stevenson was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team and the ECAC Third All-Star Team. The schools represented at this year's development camp include Dartmouth College (Stevenson), Harvard University (Gibson), Michigan State University (David Gucciardi), Minnesota State University (Julian Napravnik, Benton Maass & David Silye), Northeastern University (Justin Hryckowian), Ohio State University (Camden Thiesing), Plymouth State University (Peter Laviolette), the University of Massachusetts (Linden Alger), the University of Minnesota (Grant Cruikshank & Jaxon Nelson), the University of North Dakota (Ethan Frisch & Brent Johnson) and Western Michigan University (Ethen Frank).
Internal Development - Nineteen players who played for the Capitals in 2021-22 were originally drafted by Washington (Alexander Alexeyev, Nicklas Backstrom, John Carlson, Martin Fehervary, Lucas Johansen, Marcus Johansson, Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Hendrix Lapierre, Brett Leason, Beck Malenstyn, Connor McMichael, Dmitry Orlov, Alex Ovechkin, Garret Pilon, Aliaksei Protas, Ilya Samsonov, Vitek Vanecek and Tom Wilson).
First Look - Ivan Miroshnichenko, the Capitals' first round selection, appeared in 31 games with Omsk Krylia in the Supreme Hockey League (Russia-2) in 2021-22, where he recorded 26 points (10g, 6a). The 6'1", 185-pound forward captained Russia to the gold medal at the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he recorded nine points (4g, 5a) in five games. Ryan Chesley, 18, registered 29 points (12g, 17a) in 59 games with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program Under-18 team in 2021-22. Additionally, Chesley served as an alternate captain for Team USA at the 2022 IIHF World U18 Championships, finishing the tournament with five points (2g, 3a) and a tournament-high +13 plus/minus rating. Alexander Suzdalev, one of the Capitals' two third-round selections, produced a team- high 51 points (15g, 36a) in 45 games with the HV71 junior team (Sweden- Jr.). Ludwig Persson, the team's other third-round selection, skated in 41 games with FroĢˆlunda's junior team (Sweden-Jr.), recording 61 points (25g, 36a). Jake Karabela, a native of Guelph, Ontario, spent the 2021-22 season with the Guelph Storm (OHL), where he registered 45 points (12g, 33a) in 68 games. Ryan Hofer, the Capitals' sixth round selection, established career highs in goals (25), assists (33) and points (58) in 67 games with the Everet Silvertips (WHL) in 2021-22. David Gucciardi, the Capitals' final selection of the 2022 NHL Draft, skated in all 36 games in his freshman season at Michigan State University (NCAA), producing 11 points (5g, 6a) and 70 shots on goal.
