Apparently, the way to Travis Boyd's heart - err, hockey skills is through his stomach.

After scoring his first NHL goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road, his girlfriend Kelsey DeGonda wrote on Twitter that she and their daughter Hayden made a top secret deal involving Dad before the game.

The cake was finished baking when Boyd returned home from Columbus but was not in presentable form yet as his daughter had some finishing touches to do.
"She [Hayden] had to do all the decorating and put all the writing on there," Boyd said of his daughter. "She went into one of the bedrooms and told me I couldn't come in for five minutes, and then we sat down and ate some."
DeGonda made sure to capture the moment posting a photo on her Instagram of Boyd holding up the masterpiece.

"It was super thoughtful, and it's a nice way to celebrate that accomplishment with them," he told WashingtonCaps.com. "Maybe I need to start having them make more deals where if I score I get some sort of baked goodie."
