The Washington Capitals announced today fan initiatives in honor of the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs presented by Boeing. The Capitals begin their First Round series against the New York Islanders on Wednesday, August 12, at 3 p.m. at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The game will be televised locally on NBC Sports Washington and streamed live on the MyTeams app and NBCSportsWashington.com.

Highlights of the Capitals fan initiatives include:

Rally The Caps presented by Pepsi Zero Sugar

In conjunction with Capsule, Capitals fans are invited to share personalized messages for Capitals players through Rally The Caps presented by Pepsi Zero Sugar at WashCaps.com/RallyCaps. Fans are encouraged to share good luck messages, cheers, hockey hugs and goal song dances. A special Capitals theme will be applied to videos, and fans will receive an email with the video for personal use. Videos will also be featured on Capitals social channels.

Unleash the Fury

Throughout the playoffs, the Capitals are inviting fans to Unleash their "Fan Fury" and let their voice be heard during this year's playoff run by recreating the Capitals' signature fan rallying cry from home. Fans are invited to recreate the Unleash the Fury montage in full for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs by recording themselves doing their best reenactment of each movie line dressed like the actor from the film or in Caps gear.

The montage will be used in-arena during Capitals playoff games and on social media. Submit videos and view recording tips at WashingtonCaps.com/FanFury.

Virtual Gameday Pre-game Show Presented by Pepsi

Tune in to the Capitals Virtual Gameday Pre-Game Show presented by Pepsi on the Capitals Twitter and Facebook channels on game days. The program features game previews, promotions and contests, fan spotlights, interviews with players and fans and content from Toronto. The show is also available on Monumental Sports Network.

#NHLWarmups

To keep the warmup tradition alive between fans and players, Capitals fans are encouraged to make handmade Capitals signs and tweet a photo with the hashtag #NHLWarmups and @Capitals tagged. Select tweets featuring the signs will be selected to be shown in-arena during warmups. Stayed tuned to @Capitals on Twitter 24 hours prior to each game for additional information on #NHLWarmups.

All-Access Digital Content

Stay tuned to the Capitals social channels for all-access content throughout the playoffs, including behind the scenes footage and photos and game and practice coverage directly from Toronto. On game days, social content will reflect the traditional game day elements including the

debuted on Capitals social channels Aug. 2. The show offers an exclusive look at daily life in Toronto and will be posted regularly throughout the playoffs.

Game Presentation

Traditional elements of Capitals home games will be visible in all playoff games that the Capitals are designated as the "home" team. This includes music, videos, graphics, and artwork. The teams will hear the Capitals' warm-up mix during pregame skate and will be welcomed to the ice at the conclusion of the Capitals playoff opening video. The national anthems will be presented in a video recording from Capitals vocalists, Caleb Green and Bob McDonald.

Pep Rally presented by Boeing

In conjunction with the playoffs, Capitals personalities including radio play-by-play voice John Walton, hockey ambassador Haley Skarupa and anthem singer Sgt. Major Bob McDonald hosted a virtual pep rally with members of the USA Warriors hockey team. Call participants discussed the return of playoff hockey, the Warriors military service and favorite hockey memories.

Club Red 365 Porch Pictures

Club 365 members were invited to submit photos of how they represent #ALLCAPS At Home. Capitals social channels will highlight submissions during the playoffs.

Stanley Cup Playoffs Bracket Challenge

Capitals fans are encouraged to share their Stanley Cup Playoffs predications in the

Fans can join the ALL CAPS league to compete against their friends, family & co-workers and see who can predict the outcome of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. When Playoff matchups are set, fans select the winner of each Playoff series and earn points for correct picks in a tiered scoring system. Picks will lock at before the first Playoff game, with fans encouraged to check their brackets and standings as many times as they want.

Retail Offers

The Team Store at Capital One Arena is now open Wednesday-Friday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Shoppers will receive a free mystery gift card with a $50 purchase.

The Team Store at Medstar Capitals Iceplex is open seven days per week by appointment and is also accepting phone orders. Shoppers will receive 25% off at the Team Store through Sunday, August 31, excluding playoff items and Jersey customization.

So Kids Can

As part of their So Kids Can initiative, Capitals players Nicklas Backstrom, Braden Holtby and Tom Wilson, along with Elliot Segal from the Elliot in the Morning Show will continue to raise funds for The Greater Washington Urban League and DC Central Kitchen.

So Kids Can annually holds a preseason Starting Lineup Auction, and each player and Segal pledge $50 per Capitals win and $100 during playoffs. Fans are also encouraged to donate at

In June, the So Kids Can participants split an initial $36,000 raised through the 2019-20 So Kids Can Starting Lineup Auction between the two organizations.
