Capitals to Host Intra-squad Scrimmage Presented by Leidos July 24 at 4pm

Monumental Sports Network will provide live coverage of the Capitals intra-squad scrimmage, presented by Leidos, scheduled for Friday, July 24 at 4 p.m., at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. The coverage will also be streamed live on the Capitals and NBCSW's Twitter and Facebook platforms. An encore presentation of the coverage will also be televised on NBCSW on Monday, July 27 at 5:30 p.m. All Capitals practices remain closed to the public and general staff of the Capitals.

Capitals radio voice John Walton will broadcast the action alongside Capitals senior writer Mike Vogel.

Friday's scrimmage will include a 20-minute period followed by an intermission and two 10-minute periods. If the score is tied, the game will move to a five-minute, three-on-three sudden death overtime. If the game remains tied after overtime, a shootout will be held until a winner is determined.

The Capitals continue Phase 3 of the NHL's Return to Play Plan in conjunction with the resumption of the 2019-20 season, presented by Capital One. The Capitals will resume their practice session on Saturday, July 25 at MedStar Capitals Iceplex before departing to Toronto on Sunday, July 26.

The NHL will announce team rosters for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday, July 26.

The Capitals will play their lone exhibition game on Wednesday, July 29, at 4 p.m. against the Carolina Hurricanes. Washington will face off against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday, Aug. 3, at 4 p.m., the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, Aug. 6, at TBD and the Boston Bruins on Sunday, Aug. 9, at TBD. All games will be played at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
