One Arena For All | The Shapiros

Random Acts in the W is a community-focused campaign developed to give back to Caps fans surrounding the everyday moments in which individuals may need their spirits lifted or efforts recognized.
As a parent, you take on the responsibility of having your child's life in your hands all the time, but for die hard Capitals fan Ross Shapiro, that became very literal with his second child a few months ago.

Their baby girl decided to make her entrance into the world on December 31st, 2021 and couldn't wait the extra hour in order for her parents, Kristyn and Ross, to make it to the hospital.
Along with the help of a 911 operator and eventually a Fairfax County EMS, Ross successfully delivered their second daughter Juliet Noelle in their home.
"They said 'okay grab the baby's head on one side' and then my wife just slowly pushed and I was like 'I got the whole thing!'"
A couple years before heroic efforts of Ross, the Shapiros had their first child, and because they are such big Caps fans, they named their first daughter (born in 2019) Charlotte Eller Shapiro after Eller's winning goal in the Stanley Cup Final.

"We picked Lars Eller because he scored the cup winner!," said Ross.
Typically, it is said to give the mother a "push present", but instead, Kristyn wanted to give her husband a "catch present", so with the help of the Capitals, the entire Shapiro family received a Caps themed goodie basket.
"We were totally blown away. We got this amazing gift bag with a cute little outfit for Juliet, and a signed Eller puck for Charlotte," Kristyn said.

Upon hearing about the story himself, Capitals forward Lars Eller recorded a video message for the family.
Ross and Kristyn both couldn't hold back their tears after watching the special recording and it's a moment they'll surely never forget.
