Devils Executive Vice President and Assistant General Manager Tom Fitzgerald will be behind the bench starting today and serve in an assistant coach capacity.
The 51-year-old was the first-ever captain in Nashville Predators history, serving in that capacity for four seasons. He also previously was an assistant coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Fitgerald was also an assistant coach for the United States national team for Deutschland Cup in 2007, helping the team to a second-place finish.
