The Devils hit the ice Friday afternoon in Pittsburgh ahead of a weekend full of games. Up first on Saturday, the final of three straight against the Penguins. Following Saturday's game, the team heads to Philadelphia to face the Flyers before returning home.
New Jersey dropped the last two games against the Penguins and looks to improve various detailed aspects of their game, including the power play.
Defenseman Ty Smith and goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood joined the team for practice. Both players were out for Thursday night's game. Devils head coach Lindy Ruff said Blackwood could play Saturday, but ruled Smith out.
Janne Kuokkanen took a maintenance day Friday and was not on the ice with the team.
The team faces off against the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET.
